Said Alaoui, CFA

Said Alaoui is the Managing Partner of Afamia and has significant corporate finance, capital raising, M&A, leveraged buyout, financial restructuring and operational restructuring experience.

Mr. Alaoui is currently the chair of SoCal Security Acquisition. Previously he was the chairman of Something Sweet and also served on the boards of Portal Service, Total Transportation Services and Western Emulsions. Prior to founding Afamia, he was a principal at Saybrook Capital, a Los Angeles-based private equity firm. Prior to Saybrook, Mr. Alaoui helped establish the Debt Capital Markets Group at Houlihan Lokey where he participated in public and private debt offerings. Prior thereto, Mr. Alaoui worked in the Corporate Finance Group of investment and merchant banking firm Libra Securities. Mr. Alaoui started his career with KPMG’s Structured Finance Group and participated in over $30 billion of securitization transactions.

Mr. Alaoui received a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of Southern California’s Marshall School of Business and holds the Chartered Financial Analyst ® designation.

Edward Kim, MBA

Mr. Edward Kim is a Managing Director at Afamia with significant business development and buy-side experience in investment banking as well as private equity.

Prior to joining Afamia, Ed was a Director of Business Development covering the West Coast at Trivest Partners, a middle-market private equity firm based in Florida, with over $1.5 billion of assets under management.  Mr. Kim started his career at Harvey & Company LLC, one of the nation’s leading buy-side advisory firms.  Over his 15 years at Harvey Mr. Kim assisted on 25 closed transactions primarily in healthcare, business services and niche industrial product industries. While at Harvey, he worked on add-ons for portfolio companies as well as new platform acquisitions.  Mr. Kim has been involved in over $800 million of M&A transactions throughout his career.

Mr. Kim received a dual Bachelor of Arts in Economics and International Relations from the University of Southern California and a Masters of Business Administration from the University of Southern California’s Marshall School of Business.

Vishnupriya Bohra

Vishnupriya Bohra earned her B.A. in Econometrics and Quantitative Economics from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) with Phi Beta Kappa Honors. She further specialized by participating in the Benjamin Graham Value Investing program at UCLA, where she was among a group of 40 students who engaged in graduate-level coursework and practical investment projects in collaboration with prominent LA-based Hedge Funds.

Ms. Bohra joined Afamia in 2023, where she plays a pivotal role in the firm's operations, providing comprehensive support through every stage of the M&A process.
